About This Evergreen Home

Mike & Mollie Donghia of This Evergreen Home, Summer 2024.

Our Story & History

This Evergreen Home is a self-improvement blog created by the husband and wife team, Mollie & Mike Donghia. We write about everything related to intentional living, but specialize in minimalism, simplicity, decluttering, frugal living, happiness, and habits. All of those are topics we have deep personal experience with, and have been reading about extensively for the past decade.

Founded in January 2021 during a long car ride, This Evergreen Home is based out of our home in Pennsylvania in the United States and has grown each year as we continue to produce articles that resonate with our readers. Over 2 million people have visited our blog since we started, and we’re grateful to each and every one.

We’re still the two main people behind the blog and personally respond to every email we receive. Don’t believe us? See for yourself: info@thisevergreenhome.com

Introductory Video – Meet Mike & Mollie

This video was created four years ago when we first launched our blog. It gives you a quick but accurate glimpse into each of our personalities and a general overview of what This Evergreen Home is about.

Our Mission

Our mission at This Evergreen Home is to help our readers live with less noise and more purpose. We share the lessons we’ve learned from 14 years of marriage and 10 years of being parents– all while trying to live simply, intentionally, and relationally.

I’d also like to share a website created by a friend which I think many of you may find helpful as well– particularly those interested in reading thoughtfully curated articles on the Christian faith: ChristianCurator.com. As many of you know, our writing often touches on our faith which is a foundational aspect of our lives and the worldview we have.

Who We Are

This Evergreen Home is the name we’ve given to our blog which is hosted and copyrighted in the United States.

The primary authors and content creators are Mike Donghia & Mollie Donghia. They occasionally invite other bloggers to publish guests posts which are clearly marked as such.

Our Team

It’s just the two of us creating content on a daily basis with a rare guest post from a blogger we know and trust. We don’t accept unsolicited guests posts to ensure our high quality standards.

Mike Donghia – Mike has a career in digital marketing, enjoys playing baseball with his young boys, and loves to read. But mostly, he’s just a guy who loves his family and laughing with friends. His main roles at This Evergreen Home including: daily writing, guest posting, and editorial strategy. Mike’s favorite topics to write about are minimalism, time management, and habits.

Mollie Donghia – Mollie enjoys all aspects of life at home with family. She homeschools their four children and enjoys running, reading, cooking, and a hot cup of coffee. Her main roles at This Evergreen Home include: longer form writing, editing & review, social media, and community building. Mollie’s favorite topics to write about include decluttering, simplicity, and happiness.

Our Expertise

The kind of expertise we draw on for articles on This Evergreen Home isn’t the kind you learn in a classroom or by theorizing about how to live– it’s the lived experience and wisdom that accrues with time and intentionality. Mollie and I have been discussing these topics in-depth since we started dating in college. We’ve written hundreds of articles on dozens of websites explaining what we’ve learned through failure and success.

We’ve also have firsthand experience hearing from hundreds of our readers about their pain points, goals, and hopes. Altogether, while we don’t feel we have all the answers, we have a lot that we’re excited to share with our audience who have expressed that our content has been helpful and encouraging to them.

Our Accomplishments

  • Mike has written for many industry leading publications including Becoming Minimalist, Nosidebar, Rich in What Matters, Epoch Times, and Simplify Magazine.
  • Mollie has been invited as a guest on several podcasts and maintains our growing Instagram channel. She is also responsible for many of the most popular posts on our blog.
  • 800,000 page views in March 2025, nearly 10,000 active email subscribers, reached a #1 rank in Google for “daily habits” and “simple living tips”
  • Ultimately, what we treasure the most aren’t page views, but the hundreds of emails and messages we’ve received from people readers who say our blog has had an impact on them.
